Children’s Ministries

Meeker United Methodist Church Children’s Programs are targeted to provide a place where our children can laugh and play, learn and grow, develop friendships and community, and discover God’s great love for them.

All of our Children’s Ministry Leaders are background checked and trained through SafeGatherings.com

Nursery

MUMC Nursery, located upstairs in the education building, has a comfortable and safe environment with vetted staff who welcome children every Sunday morning (infant through pre-school).

Sunday School

In the midst of an inviting learning environment, our goal is to teach our children through Bible stories, songs, crafts, and sometimes skits or other action activities, that Jesus was and is a real person—a real friend—who makes a difference in their lives today.

Sunday School is open to kids K-5th grade every Sunday during worship.

Vacation Bible School

In the summer, an exciting Vacation Bible School is planned to offer a fun Bible-based curriculum with snacks, outdoor activities, music and learning sessions.  Through each day of VBS, kids will learn bible stories and how they relate to their lives.  They will learn about God’s everlasting love and will have a blast at the same time.

Acolytes

The children lighting the candles each week are doing more than just bringing the light in.  The Acolyte ministry at MUMC is a group for 1st-5th graders to learn what it means to give back to the work of the church.  This group meets periodically, discussing the importance of their ministry, spending time getting to know one another and serving their church in a fun and unique way. Kim Gould and Karen Clapper Curry are over this area.
